Bremont proudly announces the appointment of world-renowned adventurer, photographer, and award-winning filmmaker Jimmy Chin as its latest brand ambassador.
Bremont is motivated by a relentless determination to create the world’s most capable tool watches worn by those who take an unchartered path. The brand’s mission is to be there at the limits of possibility in adventure and exploration. Inspired by individuals who prove that anything is possible and epitomise Bremont’s mantra to ‘Take It Further’, Jimmy Chin is the very embodiment of this philosophy, seeking meaningful purpose in all that he does.
Acclaimed for his extraordinary expeditions and evocative storytelling, Chin’s partnership with Bremont promises to inspire a new generation of watch enthusiasts and adventurers alike. Jimmy joins Bremont’s highly respected roster of ambassadors who define the spirit of the brand through their tenacious approach to all that they accomplish.
Jimmy’s remarkable and multi-faceted career has been defined by his unwavering pursuit of adventure and his ability to capture the essence of exploration through his lens. From scaling towering peaks to traversing remote landscapes, Chin’s fearless spirit and relentless dedication to his craft have earned him global praise and admiration. “Creating films and photographs through situations that few others could experience is my life’s inspiration.” Chin comments.
In parallel, Bremont’s watches are built around the principles of resilience and durability. The brand goes to extreme lengths to ensure its watches perform in all conditions. Designed for functionality and reliability in the depths of the ocean, the peaks of the high mountains and the extremities of the Earth’s surface, its tool watches are there to accompany the most courageous of feats.
Jimmy continues: “Real courage is taking the first step and committing to chasing something that is meaningful to you.
I think bravery or courage really comes in a lot of different forms. When you are chasing a dream or chasing something that’s incredibly difficult to achieve that requires a lot of courage, not because of the physical risks, but because I feel like humans are the most vulnerable when they’re chasing something that means something to them and where they’re chasing a dream, that’s when you’re most vulnerable.”
Davide Cerrato, Bremont CEO comments: “Bremont is passionate about aligning with inspiring individuals that embody our values and philosophy. We are on a mission to create the world’s most capable tool watches that are tested beyond their endurance by our incredible ambassadors. Jimmy’s unique approach and perspective in telling meaningful stories of extraordinary adventure is mirrored in Bremont’s pioneering approach to encourage, inspire and ‘Take it Further’.”
Jimmy Chin’s remarkable career includes some of the most daring feats in exploration and outdoor adventure. In 2006 he achieved the first successful American ski descent from the summit of Mount Everest with Kit and Rob DesLauriers. Five years later, Jimmy, Conrad Anker, and Renan Ozturk captured the coveted first ascent of the notorious Shark’s Fin, a granite wall on India’s Meru Central.
As an artist, Jimmy’s work documenting extraordinary expeditions and climbs has been featured in numerous publications globally and in 2019, Jimmy was awarded the National Geographic Photographer’s Photographer Award by his peers. Jimmy’s fearless pursuit of conveying extraordinary narratives culminated in the winning of an Oscar for the Best Documentary for ‘Free Solo’ in 2019 with his wife and Co-Director, Elizabeth Chai Vasarhelyi.
Together they have directed ‘Meru’, ‘The Rescue’ and most recently their first scripted feature, ‘Nyad’ including Annette Bening and Jodie Foster, whose performances are both Oscar-nominated.
As part of the partnership, Jimmy Chin will embody and wear Bremont’s Land, Sea and Air based collections, collaborate closely with Bremont on various initiatives, including special edition timepieces, exclusive content, and immersive experiences that celebrate the brands spirit of adventure. Jimmy will be joining Bremont at Watches and Wonders this April as the brand celebrates its inaugural year at the global exhibition with a brand-new Land inspired tool watch collection.
Chin continues: “Watches are not just instruments for keeping time; they are symbols of exploration and the moments that define our lives. I look forward testing Bremont out in the field as an essential part of my kit.”
